Sounds like the engine does not have sufficient fuel pressure.  I would replace the fuel filter and make sure the gas lines are not pinched anywhere.

as steve said it very well may be the fuel filter. had a van that ran great  and as soon as i got up to about 50 it would start sputtering and as soon as i let up it would clear up. replaced the filter and ran great.

Vette(s): Picked it up and it running good now. Just need to do a few more things and she will be 100 percent.
I ended up replacing the fuel pump, fuel filter and carberator. After I did that, it still died and not any better. It only got better after I blew out the lines.

hmmm..surprised joel didn't mention this one as i've seen him post it before. wonder if the filter inside the gas tank is crudded up (big tech term).  never had mine apart but is supposed to be like a sock type filter. may be the culprit. eddie208752007-03-26 12:54:45

I don't know if you have the orig. cat. converter but a cloged cat will make it bog down under load as well. Just a thought.
Well I blew the lines out from front to back a few weeks ago. Then I tried to start it and the battery was dead. I didn't have a charger around so I bought one last week. I got the battery charged and started it up. I let it run for a good 45 minutes and it was idling good the whole time. Then I decided to take it up the road and back. To my surprise, it ran ran good. It did not fall on it's face like it used to. There must have been some rust or something blocking the gas on the intake side of the fuel line.
Did you disconnect the lines from the tank, or just blow thru them into the tank? If you disconnected them, then you probably blew whatever it was across the yard. If you didn't disconnect, and blew thru them into the tank, then whatever it was is still there...lurking...waiting for the chance to bum you out again!
Glad you got it running again, tho.

I did not disconnect the lines from the tank. What ever it was blocking it is still in there. I was thinking that when the fuel lines were replaced, the tank was empty and when they put gas in it, that stirred everything up at the bottom. When the was started, some crap was sucked into the line causing it to clog. Since the tank is 3/4 full, I am going to wait, if I can, long enough to empty it out then remove the tank and inspect it. I may have to end up replace it if there is some rust in the tank.
