Hello everyone, I haven't posted in a while but I check in every day to see whats going on. I've installed a zz4 in my 69 coupe and I'm getting ready to fire it up. I put a Holley 650 double pump #4447 on and my problem now is the accelerator cable wont fit to the carb linkage. It's like the cable is too long. I'm pretty sure the cable is original and I have the original mounting bracket that bolts to the carb. How can I fix this? Can I get an aftermarket cable that will fit. Also the air cleaner base which is the original stock 14'' base now hits the HEI distributor cap which is a bigger diameter than the stock cap. Can I find a smaller diameter air filter assembly with as low a profile as the original so it clears the hood? Any help and input is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve

You can find a "universal" throttle cable bracket "kit" at Pep Boys, Auto-Zone, O'Rileys, etc., and most likely solve the cable problem. I've used them on quite a few "kit" cars, and they work OK. The kit comes with several different brackets, and good destructions on how to bolt the bracket you need on. You might check this out, before trying to find a different cable.
As far as an air cleaner assy., there are some other folks here that have done the same type of swap you did, so maybe one of them will check in with some info for that.

I put a new edelbrock intake on mine, with my Q-JET,finally got around to getting an air cleaner for it,I got an Edelbrock #1208 ,it's chrome and it's 10 inch diameter, gives me lots of room,no clearance issues ,check it out
