I just got an email from Eric Sauls at classicchambered.com and he is now selling slip-in chambered side pipe mufflers.
Ron (ruready2go) was kind enough to send him one as a template to build his muffler.
Is there anyone in the detroit area with hooker pipes that could stop by and try them out? Id like to know how they sound!!

Vette(s): 1971 T-top. I just had car shipped from my parents house in florida where it has sat for over 12 years..It is going to be a long project!
He has some clips of sounds on his web site for those interested. Below is an email he sent me about what had to be done to get to fit sidepipes and approx. cost.
From Eric at classicchambered.com
"Retail probably around $145.00/ea. Pretty labor intensive to build. I had to have the end adapters custom-made to a very oddball diameter, then cut everything down to correct overall length before & after welding. I also had to produce a 4" fixture w/access areas for welding so the adapters would align properly. Exhaust tubing is always sized OD, & an end to join an OD is sized ID. With these inserts, the muffler cartridge adapters need to be sized smaller than standard OD, plus the wall thickness of the 4" OD sidepipe can vary. Thus the need to weld on other "tensioners" to keep the inserts tight & rattle-free after installation. Anyway, you could let the 'Vette guys know MSRP will be "around $145.00ea." I could also do these in 3" flowpaths. The sizes available would be 2.5" & 3" flowpaths, all with 26" long bodies, & 3.5" body diameters. The 3" versions would be $157.00/ea., plus they would be louder. I'll sell these direct to the end-user. There will be a picture of these on my website in a few days. These are gonna sound awesome, plus they will allow a LOT less HP loss vs. other products that seem to be available. The "quiet" Hooker insert you sent me probably robbed a 400 HP motor of about 80 HP @ 5,000 RPM. With the Powerstick 2.5" insert, your loss might be 7-10 HP.
I have not tested these yet as my engine is still 10 feet from my car but the clips on website sound pretty good.

Anything, but Stock and more mods to come!
SSBC Force 10 Brakes, 3.73, TH350, 355 CID, Rack and Pinion, Vette Brakes suspension front and rear.
well its not chambered its a straight though design, but Hooker just released their new maxflow muffler for their side pipes.
here is a link to the press release.

Just thought you all might want to know. We don't have a sound recording, but it makes some impressive HP figures compared to a Chambered exhaust system.
I have a dyno chart somewhere here on my harddrive.

I think they are going to be around $180 for the pair.
