I think I'm about to re post an old question.I have never used cruise control on any car.I wish to remove(and save) what appears to be the cruise control device under driver side fender and the baseball size salvo.Am I looking for trouble by removing these two items? Does anything else have to happen for me to succesfully remove cruise from this 77.Lever on steering column is not a concern.

You shouldn't have any problems if you want to remove the under-hood hardware....except for the speed-o. You'll need a different cable to run from the trans to the speed-o head in the dash. You may also need a ratio adapter for the connection on the trans, so the speed-o reading will be accurate.

How about this Joel....I leave the cruise mechanism which is under the fender, now I don't have a new speed cable issue,AND I just remove the servo which is the PITA since it is out there on the fender well.Is that doable?
I removed mine on the 77,left the transducer ,also about 8ft of vacuum hose.removed Before I did it I tried to fix it but there are no servos available that I could find. The 77 system is a 1 year only. There is 2 rivets holding the servo to the fender. It really cleaned up the engine compartment on the drivers side

Apparently, some folks just want to remove some clutter from under the hood. That's fine...especially if the darn thing don't work anyway!
You can remove the servo, and leave the transducer, with no problem, mikeee!!
