Hey guys,

YOu all know I've been looking for a new Cruise control Servo/Diaphram for my 1977 for a while. SIcne GM discountinued them its hard to find a new one. I've been looking through several USED/NOS parts catalogs and found nothing.... There si one up on eBay right now for my '77 its $150... however its a the smae universal APP... 77-82.

Anyways there is a guy I've been talking to about this. He has one that came out of a 1978 Vette, it was a 13,000 mile car. He also claims that my old pull chain style won;t work with the new Edlebrock 600CFM carb. He showed me this:
http://fattyslims.com/vette/pics/78CRuise/
He claims that that ROD would be a better vacuum action than the pullchain... and that the ROD is the only thng thats gonna work with that carb.

Thanks guys,

-Lou

I may have a vacum diaphram for you. I removed my stock cruise and installed an after market one. a Audiovox ccs-100. They are not to hard to install and they work really well. I have installed three of them In my vehicles that did not have cruise. If you are interested I will find what box I put the original one in and see what shape it is in. here is a link that shows the audiovox cruise.

Hey Rob,

Yeah... I'm interested in your original '77 cruise servo....
I have my original one... but the rubber boot is all off, except for a small ring... and the pullchain is broken in half.

I might have the one off my 80' that I'm not using and it had the Rod style oem. It was a bit scary hitting the Resume Button at 60 MPH and Breaking the Tires Loose so I removed it and gained a bit more room too. Richard....

Those accellerating cruise units can be rebuilt and corrected.  The diaphram is a controlled unit, not the controller (transducer).

I'm confused Ken.....

I havn't found anyone who can rebuild the Servo/Diaphram. the transducer is fine.

So is this '78 Servo ok to buy, and install? What changes do I have to make?

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.

Sorry Bob, your link for the servo comes up invalid when I try to access it.

hopefully this one will work. If it does not work when clicked on copy it to the address bar in explorer, it should work http://www.C3VR.com/member_pages/4201_4300/4221/Cruise Diaphram1.JPG
