Last winter I had a made a post about changing the stock sb fuel pump and going with the Edelbrock 1721. In the spring the pump swap was made and the bottem fuel pump plate kit 1798 was not used. Steel line and brass fittings also used instead of rubber gas line. The improvements are when fired no stalling as 110 gal/hr @ 6lbs also over 3000 no lugging and under heavy acceleration no pinging. I'm not saying that this is the answer that going to cure everybody's fuel problem I'm just saying that I'm happy with what was achieved. Thanks again for all the impute from the responders. Garry

Garry, Glad to hear that seems to be taking care of your issues. Now heres a few questions I have for you about that pump because I am considering using a similar pump. Your cars original pump has 2 pipes coming out the bottom of the pump, one is for fuel coming into the pump from the tank and the other being a return for fuel to return to the tank, i think they call it a bleed off?, and one out the front that carries the fuel to the carb. What did you do with your piping for the bleedoff side? What effects does not using this return passage do?
Thanks
