Vette(s): 1976 Brown with Buckskin Interior. I bought her on 9/15/03 and just received it on OCT 1st 2003!! It needs interior work, and some things under the hood, but I am so excited! Just waiting for Summer of 2004 to totally show it off.
I like your sidepipes and I wanna know all about them. My hubby told me to ask to see if I can afford to get those on my car. I want the exact same stuff so any and all info you can give would be great!

They are Hooker Headers and they run about $810 for the pair. You can get them from Corvette Central (one of your favorite places!).
They come with a 3 options for mufflers depending on how loud you want them. I went with the flow through (middle choice). Nice tone (even with an L-48) without being too loud or having the problems I've seen posted with the Glass packed (third choice).
Installation is not as difficult as it may seem and with your husband being a mechanic, shouldn't be a problem.
They fit VERY well. This is my second set - the first set rusted out when the car sat for 16 years. No question for me though when asked if I wanted them replaced.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

I got my matched set from Bruiser! The smoke coming off the side-pipe made me cringe. I was distracted.

Hi Susan
I can attest to your shark bite as you showed me that nasty bite at Octobervettes, LOL
Going home I let #1 son drive and when we stopped, I not being use to the passenger side didn't swing my leg out quite far enough. You guessed it, a fresh bite
I don't care cause I still love my Hooker sides

Oh how I luv my pipes, but I'm partial to the covers, call me a wuss, but a friend of mine had a 77 with Hookers and YES they bit me also. I have the painted fiberglass covers, I also has a pair of the factory covers, but the crome is horrible, and just can imagine spending 2 grand , so I'll have to put up with these............
