I am adding true dual exhaust and am wondering if I need a gasket where the heat riser valve meets the stock exhaust manifold. I have replaced the valve with a spacer and it looks like the old valve was just a metal to metal fit with the manifold. I also know the earlier year cars, up through 74, used a gasket on that side but I think the following years were a metal to metal fit. I know the underside uses a doughnut but I'm wondering about the manifold side since I am using just a spacer. Thoughts anyone?

Thanks,

Keith

If there is a quality gasket out there then it wouldn't hurt to use one..

That was my thought as well. I have one from one our vendors and will use it.

Thanks,
