Has anyone used the POR 15 exhaust manifold paint?  If so, is it worth it?  Kind of expensive..... I figure my other options are just regular rattle can header paint or to just leave 'em au natural.   I had my machinist run them through his parts washer so they don't look too bad, but a consistent, durable gray would probably look the best.

Ive used it but not on my manifolds. I changed my mind and went with headers so it never went on my manifolds. I did use it on my brake calipers. It has a nice grey color which was what I wanted anyway. I noticed that it took a while to dry. It wasnt like a normal paint but once on the part it had a compound type feel. Once it dried which was a few days it held up and is still looking good. I use POR15 paint on everything I paint. I think they make a great product! Now another idea is that rub on stuff that makes them look like they did when they were new. Im not at home now but I will try to check for the name of the product for you. I know my dad has used it and they look original when he was done. Maybe someone else on here has used it as well.

Calyx Manifold CoatingCaylx manifold dressing, this stuff is awesum. Eastwood Products, I think its like $20.00
Barb & Frank (Bobbie78) turned me on to it. Looks like original and just rubs on with your fingers, very easy to use.

I agree with ebo, and only use Caylx on my vehicles. You get great results.

Like the demo pic Ebo...We've used the Calyx on the master cylinder & other items also.  It helps to hit is with a heat gun on items that don't get as hot as the manifolds to cure.

I personally would look for someone locally that does ceramic coatings.  The company in our area charges about $150-$175 for a set of manifolds.  Does a great job, and it helps to disapate (sp?) heat as well.  They have three choices, Silver, Black, and Pot Metal Grey, and takes about a two week turn-around.  I used POR on my Frame and running gear, but did not know they had an exhaust paint.

Here's a link to their site.  Really good people to work with.

Thanks, guys!  I think I'm going to try the Calyx stuff.  Seems like everyone that posted that used it has had a good experience with it.  I like the thought of a ceramic coating, but I am trying to save $$ where I can and I also am looking to keep the engine bay somewhat stock looking (ergo no headers on both counts).  Seems like Calyx would fit the bill!  Anyone know if any of C3VR's advertisers carry it?
