10 hours man you got patience! I just dropped my engine on the frame and the fuel pump is hard to get at even with the body off.
I actually just read one of my manuals(a rare event) about putting gasket sealer on the bolts, shoot now I gotta go fix mine cause I didn't do thatOuch. The manual didn't specifically call for vaseline Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing but it did call for heavy duty grease on the end of the pushrod. I couldn't figure out how to get the pushrod to stick either, but vaseline is genius!

Yup.  Vaseline. I've finally found a second use for it. Clown

Shane, just FYI did you know you can access bolts on your fuel pump by jacking car up, removing the wheel. Then access the bolts by using a long extenstion going through the fender well. The hole in the fender well where the shocks are bolted on. Just FYI its a bitch doing it from underneath. You may already know this if not the just disreguard. If not you job may just be 9 hours instead of 10. Take care let us know, thanks.

As far as the hole in the block not going all the way thru, there are two holes there...perhaps you used the wrong one? The one that does go all the way thru will have a bolt in it...the other one usually does not.

Shane,

I am 65 yrs. old and a long time car enthusiast and I love to work on speciality cars...aaaand a longer time beer taster, I have spent many years trying to do both at the same time but have never been able to be a master of both at once, so I decided to try and split them up.

Now I work on and enjoy my old car passion and hold off the beer till after the work is done....."VIOLA",, it works like a charm.  Everything seems to go alot smoother..........and I thought it was just old age.....Confused

Take care...Rich

Well...this is the most informative reply I have gotten so far...and humbling.

Guy...I was accessing the pump from under the car.  That would probably explain half of my problems.doh  Joel...I was in deed using the wrong hole. (may explain why I am divorced at such a young age)Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing.   Scott...I will def. take you up on your offer if I ever get stumped on things.   I see you are a pilot. I fly C-17's out of the Air Force Base.   Good to see a fellow aviator here.

And Rich...LOL.  I try and start projects with the beer and car work separated...but when a 2 hour job turns into a 10 hour job...they tend to mix Wink

Thanks for the help guys.  I'm def. glad I joined this forum.  I'm learning quite a bit from this.   Thanks again.

-Shane

Found the leak.  Front main crankshaft gasket.  This will be a fun fix. Disapprove
