Vette(s): Just finished 2 years of Blood, Sweat, & Tears restoring my 69 Coupe. Crimsom Red, 427, vacuum removed, Shot of Steeroids, Killer Lights, 5 Speed, still working on small things but she is back on the road.
I'm trying to find some information on how and what the fuel return line is connected to for my 69 BB. When I bought it it was just dead ended in the engine compartment. I was wondering can someone provide me with some information or knows where I can find this information. I have a GM Illustration Manual & 1969 Asssemby Manual and neither one shows this informtion. I can find information on early/mid 70s but the return fuel line is on the oposite side of the car.
Thanks,
Jim

If you have an AIM for a '69, look at page J230. This shows the fuel line coming from the fuel tank and the fule return line running along side it. At this point you have two "S" hoses that connect as shown on page J207.
The fuel supply line "S" hose connects to the bottom of the fuel pump. The other "S" hose connects to the "pipe-vapor return (#17 in the diagram).
I didn't find anything on where the vapor return line connects on the carb, but I don't have a big block so I can't give you any more help.

the return line was conencted to the fuel filter..
on the stock filter there is an extra output this is for the return line.

Jim & Ben thanks a lot guys. After I sent my note I happened to look at the engine section of AIM and there was the filter Ben referred to. Looks fairly simplistic compared to the later versions routing to a canister but I guess it works. After looking at the diagram I see I need to reroute my lines. Based on the diagram on J230 they go through the body mount bracket, better now than later.
Thanks for the answer I now have to find a filter with 3 ports.
