Vette(s): 1976 Brown with Buckskin Interior. I bought her on 9/15/03 and just received it on OCT 1st 2003!! It needs interior work, and some things under the hood, but I am so excited! Just waiting for Summer of 2004 to totally show it off.
my rubber hoses from the Gas Tank had a hairline crack in it. Man it was tough getting those out and replaced. It took my hubby 3 hours to finish the job. It sure was the wrong time for that. This was the 1st weekend that the sun was out all weekend & 80*. Thank goodness it wasn't the steel line otherwise I would have been in real touble. Getting to the gas line was hell! It was all up under the tank and it was so hard to get to it too.

after driving my 71 home (1000M) I had developed a leak.

Pulled the tank out this weekend and found that some idiot had removed the anti squeak padding off the frame that the tank sits on. Metal to metal is not a good thing.... Tank had a small hole worn through it right above one of the mufflers!

It looked as this has happened before as there are a number of repairs done to the tank. I was going to weld it but decided to plug it with fuel tank epoxy. I have replaced the pads on the frame and will look into getting a new tank later.

The original tank is around 60liters, has anyone had experience with bigger tanks? There's a heap of room up there and I would love to be able to increase the time between fills when driving. |hammer| |hammer| |thumb|

there were different tank sizes based on engine in 69 at least..

in 69-69 looks like the small blocks and 427/390 had one tank and the 427/400,430,435 had another..

in 70/71 it looks like they all had the same except for the LT-1
