Hi all got a question I need to drop my gas tank as Ive developed a leak somewhere (I think in the return "S" hose) and I was wondering how to remove the filler neck rubber thing. Ive seen alot of stuff saying I need to take it off but nothing on how to do that anyone out there with the knowledge on this?
Thanx

If you're talking about the rubber "overflow/boot" that seals the neck to the body, then it just slips over the filler neck. It will stay on the tank when you drop it, and then you can remove it by just lifting it off of the neck. If it's a little brittle, you may want to replace it while you're there, as it is not very expensive. You will need to remove the overflow hose from the 'boot' before dropping the tank. It simply fits onto a plastic nipple going into the boot, and can be pulled off easily. This hose gets stopped up with bugs and tree crap, so blow through it to make sure it is open all the way. Most of these hoses have a spring pushed inside of them at the lower end to keep it from collapsing. It's not 100% neccessary, but a good idea just the same. Hope this helps>
