It was still good advice Steve. Rust comes from water. It's good to make sure the water is gone.

pulling the gauge is easy. just turn the locking ring. be sure you have a new gasket and strainer before doing this.. drop a rag in and push it around with a broom handle and flush it out. shouldn't take more than an hour. while your under here check your felt pads under the tank. they move over time and cause pin holes from the straps and frame rubbing.
