walked into the garage this am and found gas puddle and gas dripping down right side muffler was wondering if gas tank replacement was much of a job on 77.

I did it myself on my '78. A helper is nice to have on hand. Check the short rubber hoses in under the rubber grommet below your gas cap. I have no idea if it can leak from the top just sitting but they get really dried out. While you got the tank and spare tire stuff out of the way it's a good time to swap out the old differential oil, if it hasn't been done.

might want to check the rubber hose that runs from the fuel pickup to the steel line that runs to the fuel pump, thats the one that runs over right side muffler, might have to drop the spare to see it, least on a 72 it is
actually tank removal wasn't bad did it in afternoon by myself ( that includes pool breaks because it has been so warm) the old tank had rubber bladder not sure what i want to do the tank itself was not leaking it was the rubber line (thank you again) but i got great deal on new tank from Bair's Corvette so am replacing it question is to put bladder back in or not .
