So, Cost me $25 for a little more than 6 gallons of Ultra at Sunoco. Long criuse today in the Lukester after I touched up the valve adjustment and carb adjustments.

Although the prices suck - it's like the credit card commercials

Hi Gang, Let me set the story straight with the Starton .I use it every year in my customers boats to store the fuel for the winter and try to have them use it all year long while under operation. The reason for using Starton is to keep the fuel from phazing (phazing is the separation of alcohol from gas when h20 enters the gas from water intursion ie... rain, humity, condensation etc..)Starton DOES NOT take alcohol out of the fuel or change the fuels properties. All it does is keep the fuel from forming this thick nasty glob at the bottom of your tank that costs BIG bucks after you cook the pistons in your 8.1 mercruiser big block because the fuel injection is cloged. All I can say is change all your fuel lines to alcohol rated hose because it will break it down (the rubber hoses) and keep the fuel low in the tank if you are going to let it sit for a period of time of 30 days or more(yes the fuel starts to go bad after 30 days..SUCKS right?)because it's less of a mess to clean up and get rid of (that costs big bucks too) I am currently looking for a company that makes a gasket kit for Q jets that is resisant to E 15, because it is coming to a pump near you. When I do, I will let eveyone here know because I need them for the boats with Q jets down at the marina (They will fit our cars because a 350 mercruiser is a vette motor with a different cam.....now you know why I play with boats, Wrap your ass in fiberglass...;o)) And I'll post a rebuilding /change the gaskets class on line with all my little secrets.........Bill
