Well within a week we should have a look at the top of the tank on the LT-1.
I have it in the shop getting a few things fixed and a few things looked at and decided to drop the tank also.

The car is 39 years old and the sticker isnt going to be getting any better quality, if there is anything left of it at all.

I told them I want to be there when this tank comes out. Its like the birth of a kid, (kinda).

I will post some pics if there is anything to look at.

Wish me luck!

and SCAN IT!! Any handling after it's disturbed will only deteriorate it's readability. I scanned mine and can zoom in on certain spots and you'll always have it...(unless yer compooter crashes..)

OK - burn it to a disk too...

John, It is really cool that you took the LT-1 under your wing. Larry found the right home for her. I guess this Summer's Cruise Ins will be more interesting for you although now you'll have to pick which one to drive.

Thanks Aaron.
I do believe I will let my daughter drive the 73 to a show or 2 after she turns 16 in June. That way we could take both.

She went with me in the 73 to the Vette show today and she gets it. She loves the car and she loves just cruising in it.

Plus I think she'll drive it like a grandma!

Met Larry up there and had a great time looking at some really cool cars and a bunch of parts.

Tom, Joel, Larry and Paul, thanks for the hope and advice.

I really dont think there can or will be much there but its got be be looked at some time.

Why not now.

My husband and I restored our 77 Corvette all last summer by basically doing a complete on body restoration. When we removed the gas tank we found the build sheet but it was very fragile but we were able to remove it.  Unfortunately not without causing some additional damage to it.

Take lots of pcitures!

Then to my surprise when I removed the old carpeting right under the drivers area I found not one extra build sheet but two! Out of them both one was mint and perfect! It was a real bonus and shock. So one never knows where else you just might find your build sheets.

Good luck with that tank sticker. I'm restoring a 70 LT-1 and all I found were a few fragments that I put in a clear envelope for who knows what reason because there is almost nothing there to read. Looks like pieces of some ancient scroll or parchment.

I am like you though. I will keep whatever scraps come off the deal.

Like that fella says after Clint ask him "did I fire 6 shots or only 5?"

He says, "I gots to know, I gots to know!"

And stick around this is the best place for info about any of these cars.
