Recommendation for those wanting to convert to duals with Magnaflow mufflers.
I just finished installing a dual exhaust kit on my 76 that I purchased from Corvette Central and wanted to say it was a great experiance!Smile
The installation only took 1 1/2 hours and that included the removal of my old rusty exhaust tubes and cherry bomb mufflers. The kit fit perfect and bolted in without any adjustments required. I only had to use four jack stands and didn't have any need to use a hoist or special tools. Just  7/16 and 5/8 sockets and a ratchet! I also had to purchse two additional Clamps for the muffler hangers. It's nice when things good so smoothly so I had to share the experiance.Clap

Hey Red Vette,
"Glad to hear how that worked out so well!

I have been thinking about putting the Magnaflows on mine when I get it all running again. Glad to hear you are happy with them. How do  you like the sound so far? Any drone?

The complete kit with all parts and mufflers cost $319.80 + $25 for shipping. Go to Corvette Central's web site and look under thier performance exhaust system for your specific year and tranny for your kit number & requirements. They also have a video section under the performance exhaust section of the web site that will let you hear how they sound outside the car as well as inside the interior. I haven't started my car up yet so I will hope for the sound symilar to the video which is a deep mellow tone.Smile
Good luck!
Carl

Is this one similar to the one from Mid America??  Is your set aluminized or stainless??

Corvettes and women are the same...You want to make love to them but they keep breaking down.

I need a new exhaust also and was thinking of switching over to duals, however the web site says for "off road use only". The only reason I can think that they have this statement is because there are no catalytic's with this system. I do not need to worry about this since I have the car registered as a "Classic" and it needs no inspection except for milage. Is there another reason for "off road use only"

thks

You are correct that it dosen't come with Catalictic converter. The off road is for non emission required vehicles from 76 or earlier as is my ZZ4 motor that I have in my 76.Wink
