Carb is probably draining out the fuel thru the plugs in the bottom of the bowl. Do you see any black smoke when it does start?

I believe it is a stock setup. I don't see black smoke when it starts. Once started it will restart even if I only run it a few seconds. It will start pretty easily for several hours after I start the car. Only when the car sits overnight or longer is it difficult to start.

Depending on how bad those plugs are leaking, it can take 6-12 hours to fully drain the bowl. If it is draining that slow, the fuel has probably mostly evaporated by then, and there wouldn't be any large amounts of black smoke when started.
If the fuel was percolating out of the bowl(a heat issue) after shutting it off, it would be hard to start even after a couple of hours.
I'd be checking those plugs. There are little foam rubber type "repair" kits that will at least slow the leak down. The best repair is to re-peen the plugs, and then put a small amount of JB Weld on them.
