i want to put long tube headers on my vette what mods do i need to carry out if any uk vette |cheers|

depends. the carb might have to be richened up a little bit, or it might be OK. you will have to make a new a/c bracket if so equiped. and obviously new exhaust pipes, at least the front parts. joe

On your L82 the smog pump and hardware will probably end up in a box on a shelf. As stated above, the A/C bracket will have to be shimmed out because of the thickness difference between the header flange and cast iron manifold. A spacer or stack of washers(looks crappy). You may as well go with a true dual exhaust if you still have the the original style system with the cat. but you will have to do some rework between the headers and the transmisson crossmember. I've seen the pipe hanger to accomodate the dual pipes where they go through the crossmember at Paragon. Probably other places have it, too. DON'T THROW ANYTHING AWAY!! I've had headers on my 79 for 20 years now and it is the easiest motor to work on now. Good luck. Mike
