Topic: Headers
in Forum: C3 Fuel, Emission Control, and Exhaust Systems
I have been researching headers for my 79, and have run into a terminoligy that confuses me. Some of the headers I have check into state they won't work with a "steering stabilizer". Well, according to my terminoligy, the power steering has a control valve and a slave cylinder. A steering stabalizer to me amounts to a horizontal shock absorber to keep the steering from going into uncontrolled occilations. I have replaced the steering stabilizer on a 4wd truck that I owned in the past, but the Corvette uses a slave cylinder to my terminoligy. This situation is given for Corvettes, and I don't want to order $400.00 header and be stuck with them. Any one help on this???

That's funny! My answer to that has been separate accounts - she has NO IDEA how much money I have spent

There are headers available with the mounting port for the oxygen sensor. As long as they still feed the convertor(s) and you install the O2 sensor, you will be fine with the emission check. That's for 81 and newer. 80 and older you just need the cats, and if the car has an air pump, it must also be connected.
