I tried to install this guy over the weekend. Found that the fuel inlet was 4" too far right to make a good tubing adjustment, the vacuum inlet for the brakes was a size to small and the last straw was that I would have to scrap the old throttle hold down bracket and buy something from a hot rod supply house.
So I check all the screws on the Q-Jet and installed a new manifold gasket, never would think that a Q-Jet could idle, accelerate and run so good once it was tight.
Should I return the Holley or give it another try.

Stick with the Q-Jet. It'll run better anyway and get more mpg.
return the Holley. they tend to load up at idle anyway.

more mpg...
i hope so...

last rally i measured it...
between 8 to 9 mpg...

( Holley 600 cfm , double pumper....
)

could be the traction problems....

8-9 MPG. DO YOU STILL HAVE THAT 350/350 IN THERE? YOU SHOULD DO BETTER THAN THAT. GET 8-9 WITH MY STROKER. uNLESS OF COUIRSE i REALLY GET INTO IT. THEN WE WON`T SPEAK OF MPG. MORE LIKE GPS9 gALLONS PER SECOND)

I hope you returned the Holley. Your Q-Jet will handle the current gas mixture at the pumps better.
