The saga continues. yesterday had an early morning dr appointment and then took the holly apart (i like to know what is wrong and what parts i need before going to the parts stores) first took off the primary side bowl and inspection looked fine next took off the metering circuit (even before it was completely removed) OH S**t trash was falling out everywhere. removed the metering circuit there was metal trash as large as 1/2" by 3/4" and as small as a bb every where the channel inside had their coating falling off (no rebuid of this). took the metering block to several places that rebuild carb to see if they had an extra metering block they would sell (no luck) all said the had never seen anthing like this even on carbs that had set in salt water) finally went back to where i purchased it and they called holly and spoke to a service rep (woody) and he told them to have me put it back together and send it to them and as soon as he receives it he would pull a new one off the shelf and send it to my location. if everthing goes well i will ups the carb today and have a new carb installed by next weekend.

sorry no pictures - couldn't find the camera

I have seen some of the surface coatings flake off on Holleys in the past...sometimes in large sheets like you describe.
Hope they do take care of it!

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!

Fuel could be an issue with the peeling inside.  Perhaps too much alcohol or octane booster.

Joel, I don't have to ask.  It smelled funny and the eyebrows and sideburns did grow back!  Dead  It was 30 years ago.  Ya tend to remember those things! Pig  Wits%20End   Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing   Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing   Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing
