Does anyone know at what point the 77 low fuel light should come on, this is one of the last nonessentials to fix just so that everything works. I found my light ckt bord and installed it removed some gas untill I had approx 4 gallons and the light did not come on.

Does the light come on if you ground the wire at the sending unit?
I don't know for sure how low it should be, but most of the GM car's I've had with a light would come on at about 2 gal, if that helps.

I drove my '82CE  to NY in 2006 for a test on it. Had about 2 gals of fuel left when the light came on.  Hope this helps.

Replaced the 2 transistors on the ckt bd, now the light will come on when the sender is grounded (approx 10 seconds after grounding). its one of those fixes I propably will never see work

It's a start!! The light should have a "delay" feature that keeps it from flickering when it gets to the point of illuminating...sort of a buffer. So, grounding the sender wire, and the light coming on a few seconds later sounds like it should work fine. Just drive it till the light comes on.....be sure to have a gas can wid ya, just in case!
Naw...it'll work. You prolly won't ever let the tank get low enough, tho. I never let mine get down that far either...I'm too skeered it'll run out on me. At least on mine I can look down in the tank and see how much fuel is in there!
