This is geared for the LS4 454 guys..... what exhaust do you have and how do you like the sound?
the PO of my car had a set of very quiet (guessing super restrictive) turbo style mufflers and when cruising at 2000 RPM and with windows up, can barely hear the car running......
I am thinking the magnaflows from CC.. or chambered... I dont like a real raspy or tin can sounding exhaust..... I like a toned down glasspack sound.
small blockers are welcome to responds, but i really wanna hear from 454 guys.
thanks, Jim

i went with the stock system from cc. i almost went with the magna flows but i was afraid it might be too loud, you can hear a demo on cc site.

yeah, i saw / heard the demo, but dont know if its a small block or fat block
I have always liked the chambered sound, but it might be too much on a 454.
Depends if you have a radio or not

Magna-Flows were on my car when I bought it. Sounded good, but, were fairly load. I might have liked them better 25 years ago...............I put the stock exhaust back on it. Nice and quiet, but, it still sounds good.

Mine are stock too and I think it's just enuf... no-one else has ever driven it so I can't say how it sounds from outside the car, but with the top down I think it sounds OK... I have enuf noise with the top down...
I'll put my $$$ into something important... like gas maybe...

James, Im not sure how far you are from the Trenton area... I'd give Denny at Mufflex a call. They custom PERFECTLY mandrel bend exhausts and can tailor to any sound you like. They did my car from the mani's back. Its show quality, EXACTLY what I wanted and reasonably priced. ALl done on a Saturday while you wait...

The stock mufflers just seem to make a lot of backpressure... the car just does not sound like its breathing very well at when cruising, you can barely hear it running.....
I think I'll go with the magnaflows untill I get a little older ;)
thanks for all the input...
I had MagnaFlows and at 30 mph I couldn't hear a jet plane if it was landing on me. The harmonics were terrible. I put in a crossover pipe which helped some but I still couldn't hear the radio. I bought a complete stock system from Corvette Central and the supposed Mandrel bent pipes were anything but and they wouldn't take them back. I tried them and didn't care for the saound at all. I now have a set of SS sidepipes from EBay and am a happy camper. There's some back pressure on these but they sound just right. No harmonics in the corkpit. And with a 454, who cares about a little back pressure? It'll still break your neck if you stomp on it.
