Just pulled the horses out of the garage after a long stretch replacing shocks, changing gear ratio, etc (went from 4:10 to 3:08 and was thinking about changing the engine (dyno test 425 horses)(over built for my cruis'n)6-8 miles per gallon on high test.Engine is the original vette engine before mods. After the horses were out of the corral I believe I'll keep the horses and opt for a overdrive tranny.
Anyway back to the exhaust I have headers now but the constent bolt checking gets old. All the catalogs list exhaust I like but are fitted for other years. I want a low mellow sound at the cams idle.Any suggestions |smokin| |headscratch|

I suppose it depends how one defines a "mellow sound" at idle.

I have a 72 BB, and after some research, have decided on the chambered system that Mid America sells. I selected the one that connects to the stock exhaust manifolds, rather than the one that connects to headers. I have not yet completed the installation, but the 2 I've heard personally and as I'm told by others, it sounds mellow at idle, has a real bark when WOT, but still allows a conversation at cruise without shouting.

sounds like you found your system, by research did you locate someone who had the system for a listen?
