I'm building my 72 454 for max power in the low and midrange rpm range(idle to 5,000). What is the most appropriate dual plane intake manifold(Oval Port)? I have shortened my focus to: Edelbrock Performer, Weaind Stealth; Holley. Any other thoughts? There are a few other west coast manufacturers whose mainfolds show up on E-Bay.
BTW I have a L-88 hood I'm putting on this winter, so clearence shouldn't be an issue.
TIA

I couldnt be happier with my edlebrock AIR-gap RPM...
its available in oval
no clearance issue and it made a significant difference.
the cooler air change allowed me to bump timing up a bit.

Anything, but Stock and more mods to come!
SSBC Force 10 Brakes, 3.73, TH350, 355 CID, Rack and Pinion, Vette Brakes suspension front and rear.
I would agree with Ben, if you have the hood clearance the Air gap is a great intake.
professional products does a knock off of this intake as well without the Edelbrock price tag.
Weiand will have a new one out soon, but our engineers are working on it now so it will out perform the current pieces on the market.
