I would like to know if the fuel pump on my early 71 LT-1 is orininal.  The vapor return port exits the fuel pump housing pointing toward the engine side, not the outboard side of the pump and does not have an "AC" on the side. Is this a BB pump or was it also used on the LT-1?  Was the pump for the LT-1 made by Borg-Warner or AC Delco?

Thanks for any replies
Neil

The fuel pump should be AC-Delco. GM at times did set up alternate suppliers in case of strikes or other shortages, such as Carter was contracted to build Quadrajets as a secondary source. I have no idea if Borg-Warner was a fuel pump source for GM.

Fuel pump is AC Delco. AC should be on the top side of the upper housing and there is a 5 digit part number stamped into the flange on the under side.

Hope that helps.

Hey Gunslinger!

Sorry to change the subject.

I saw you up at the Cracked Claw on Saturday.

The L71 Vert is a beauty. My son and I both voted it as the peoples choice.

Also, did you see the 68 vert in yellow with original paint 327/350 w/air. Sweet.

Wish I had remembered to introduce myself.

Next Time.

Bill
