I want to put headers and chrome sidepipes on my 71 with BBC LS5.  Thinking of chrome Hookers.

Does anyone out there know anything about the following link?  They sell spiral baffles for sidepipes.  The testimonials make them sound like the best thing since sliced bread.

Appreciate it if anyone has either knowledge of the mufflers or recommendations about the sidepipes.

The car is totally stock, but I am not adverse to some customizing.

I have them on my car. Sound is mellow, not too loud. Cannot comment on performance improvements. Very easy to install, they just slip into the sidepipes.

can`t speak for the spiral turbo baffles, however , the hooker side pipes are awesome looking, but they seem to constantly have leaks whether at the heads or where the pipe meets the collector. they tend to rust too. I went thru 3 sets in three months ( Ceramic coated) because they started to rust at the twist. I finally went with the Sterling coating from jet-hot ( more MOney) and all seems good. Still leak though. if you like a REAL rumble go with the free flow mufflers from hooker. your LS5 will sound mean .Honestly, if i had to do it again I would go with chambered exhaust under the car or factory type side exhaust. The hookers sure look cool though.good luck

I have Hooker sidepipes, also with the Jet-Hot coating.  They look really good and are pretty easy to keep clean.  I put the JCL spiral baffles in them with the caps cut off.  The sound is incredible and I've gotten a ton of compliments on how great the car sounds.
