Vette(s): 74 coupe 4 speed 350, 54K actual miles, all original; paint, interior, engine, split bumper. #'s match. 2nd owner, no stress cracks.
Thanks for all the input.Thumbs%20Up  Still would like to find someone that has actually installed these.  Price seems almost too cheap.  Maybe made in China.  Cheap plating. Etc...  Maybe I will post on another site and see what I come up with.  If so, will let you know...

I don't know if you've tried this already, but if you look at the seller's detailed feedback you can click on ebayr's names that have purchased these from him in the past and contact them directly through ebay.

Thanks Jason, will do and let you know what I found out...

Just did, seller dates back to 2001.  Most were all positive, good product and quality.  So it looks good.  Maybe I will order a set in spring and see for myself..Wink

I've never contacted another buyer on ebay before so I gave it a shot for grins and giggles just to see if it worked. I got a response today from a guy who bought some of those sidepipes. I asked him how the chrome was holding up and how they were working out? here's his response. gotta love the internet!Thumbs%20Up

Dear minnickjason04,

So is somebody going to buy these and do a little winter vette mod? I love the look of the Hooker (be kind guys). I also like the old school Thrush, and the OEM pipes.

I wouldn't give up my side skirts and the quite for them though. I might be a little vain but this is one area that looks aren't everything to me...

First I agree, having "a Hooker" hanging on each side does look betterThumbs%20Up.
What it boils down is your budget.  Approx $2000 + labor for hookers.

The ebay Sidepipes are $275 + 50 shipping + approx 150 to have hooked up to stock manifold at a muffler shop.  So say a total $475-500 vs $2000.  Even cheaper if you get Patriot sidepipes from Jegs.

To me the sidepipes look OK.  If a person has to replace the exhaust system + mufflers on their car they may consider this option.

I went to "an other site" and found everybody was happy with the ebay or Patriot sidepipes and the quality and chrome.  They were easy to install and  the muffler shop fabricated hooking them up to the stock manifold.  I got some great pictures and info.  You can adjust how you wanted them to
" hang'' ,which to me is a positive.  Everybody liked the looks of the sidepipes on their car. Send me a PM and I can tell you more.

As for me, I am still undecided...whether to stay "stock" or switch.

I would appreciate more ideas or comments.  THANKS....

Personally, I love the look and sound. But I would not want them on my car.  I don't like tattoos.

Thats one thing I should have asked....and did not.
I assume they got burned just as bad as the Hookers.
  Good Point !!!!

I do know one thing, when installed, you can adjust and set them to where they ride more under the chassis instead of on the side.  That might help with the burns.  I don't know.   THANKS

steves74, The side pipes do look great although a bit high when you add the installation in on it all and the BURNING affect. I have been thinking about my mufflers and have been searching ideas to replace the stock ones. I found on the Corvette Central site they have C3 Magnaflow Performance Mufflers in pairs for $189.00 and they offer $15.00 S/H for the pair. Magnaflows sound great and Boyd Coddington uses them on all his projects. Just a thought for you.Big%20smile Also 767REP (Todd) has a nice set up also, before I do anything I need to check his out.

Thanks Aaron.  Let us all know what you decide.  Also I would like to know what kind of setup Todd has...mufflers or sidepipes?

If I was going to replace my mufflers, I would go with stainless steel and buff them (at least on the bottom half) before I installed them.
