hi everyone.
i just installed a chambered exhaust and some other nightmare items (see other posts
).
the car fired up and idled well (and sounds great!) but after awhile it started to backfire out the passenger side. i pulled the plugs and they were pretty fouled up (i was going to change them anyway). I cleaned them up for the time being and it seemed to eliminate the backfire. i haven't road tested it yet.
but my questions is:
has anyone out there who has a chambered exhaust had to re-jet their carb to accommodate it?
btw, i have an edelbrock 600 cfm on a small block motor.
thanks!

I have PowerStick chambers on mine and did not rejet the carb. It runs great. It will backfire if you rev it high and let off immediately. I haven't seen chambers yet that don't backfire a little. BTW, mine is a stock L48.

I have chambered on my 73 L48, Q-Jet carb. Did not re jet. Mine does not back fire at all. A back fire usually means your exhaust is sucking air at one of the joints. I retighting mine at the manifolds once a month and check the other clamps.
