Side Pipe Heat Shield Fit Issue

I added recently Doug's headers and side pipes to my 78.  I also added 36" chrome heat shields from CobraStuff.com.  My dilemma is that if they are moved forward enough to cover the header connection, then one might still burn their leg (which I may or may not have done twice).  With them move back for protection, the ugly connection shows.  I have found 46" and 48" shields, but they too long to work.  Any suggestions?  Thx.

Looks like you need about a 40 inch shield, no? Here's a 38 inch shield set, ...not sure if that extra 2" would work for ya...

Thanks, but your right, 40-43 is what I believe I need to cover the connection point without hitting where the header pipes join up.
