Just received my factory repro 68-74 side exhaust pipes today and hopefully putting them on my 75 this weekend. Is there anything special about installing them or is it a pretty straight forward operation? I had hoped there would be some kind of installation guide but have found none. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Kevin

You didn't get any installation destructions w/your purchase??! Have you checked with the co. you got them from? I put a set of N.O.S. covers on a '77 a couple of years ago, and had a muffler shop plumb the pipes to fit, but that's not the same. If you got all the hardware to install the pipes, it's not that bad. There are special bolts the fit into the frame to hold the pipes up, sort of "T" looking things, that sometimes can be a bugger to get in. Your frame will have holes in it for these bolts, at the front & rear (on the sides). You have to take the rocker panels off, because they won't work with the fact. sidepipes. Once you get the funny bolts in the frame, the pipes should bolt right up. Then comes hooking up the pipes to the mnfld, or headers, whichever you have. I think you can probably do it on a Saturday without too much trouble. I'm sure someone else here has done this, and can give you more info. Good luck, and have fun!!!

Possibly someone has a '69 assembly manual, and could get you a copy of the page in it that deals with the installation? Anyone?..........Anyone?....... Adams' Apple38460.8321643519

Here's a link to my site, with a copy of the page from the assembly manual for the side exhaust.  Hope it helps with your installation.

The hardest part is getting the old ones off. It helps if you have a lift and a torch.
Good luck.
Take pictures before and after for the next guy.
