I got the Ecklers set that goes on the C-3's. Since we don't currently have inspections in Oklahoma...
LLLLOOOOUUUUUDDDDDDD, but I LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Perf gains would be about the same as true duals with no cats and the right mufflers. Mine are just pipes baffled in every so often. I have them hooked to GM factory rams horn headers.
It's all in what you like.

Not in mine, then ends turn down at the back. I saw some at a car show just before I had surgery that were on a 1958 vette. They came to a straight end in front of the rear wheels and bent out slightly so as not to be directly aimed at the wheel.
They were the kind that you could stack baffles on the end. Looked really sharp but were definitely a leg burner.

Marcia,
Does the UK or the locals have noise level limit laws or do they just like to harass people with loud pipes?

oh they can put meter on you to measure the sound level, but best to avoid that,as they dont really know how to use meter right.being along side a wall/building will read higher then open scace.but tell that to a judge.

a harley with screaming eagle is just on the magine.

When I first got my '77 vette I had true duals with Flowmaster 40s installed. About two years ago I switched to Hooker Header sidepipes. I will not be switching back to true duals! I don't think sidepipes are for everybody.. but they are definitely for me! I have JCL spiral baffles in them and they sound awesome. I cut the caps off the ends of the baffles for more noise. I got the sidepipes from Jet-Hot and heat shields from cobrastuff.com. I can't really comment on a power increase because I dropped in a new motor at the same time.

Vette(s): My 1974 Vette sold last August 2014. I am still willing to show up to events and local gatherings if anything happening No new vette yet.
My 74 has the true dual pipes on it from Chevrolet back in 74. it has a nice engine sound and roars to life when accerating or when idling. it isnt too loud and doesnt disturb the neighbors but is definitely louder than any exhaust sytem out the back of a car. I love it. i have the stock side pipe covers for my '74 and the pipes are great. you can buy replacement oem ones on most vette sites.
