does anybody have any experience with the Dynomax Super Turbo or the Ultra Flow mufflers as seen in the Vette catalogs, Ecklers etc. I'm interested in fit in the stock location and the sound they create over the stock muffs. thanks in advance

I have them on my 69 right now and I have mixed feelings on them. They will fit in the stock location and have a fairly stock look.
As for the sound, if you are looking for quiet domesticated mufflers (like many vettes had) than these aren't for you. At idle, my car sounds much more like a Winston (it has an aggresive cam) cup car than anything that had the side exhaust. As for performance, I have no complaints and the sound over 2000 rpm's is very sweet!
PS - I have yet to have been pulled over for noise complaits.

Vette(s): 1975 Coupe NOM 350: Edelbrock 64cc heads, QJet clone, Performer manifold & cam, gear drive and water pump; MSD ProBillet dist and 6A box, Comp rollers, Hedman headers into true duals, Magnaflow cans,TH400 w/shift kit, TT2's, 3.70RA, hi-rise hood
Take a look/listen at the Magnaflow TurboXL if you can. Put a pair on my 75 (modified 350 ... heads, carb, intake, cam, roller rockers, headers, etc.)with 100% satisfaction. (Ok, maybe all the neighbors aren't 100% satisfied)
Tone's aggressive, volume's civilized (relatively) ... and they don't sound like everyone else's Flowmasters on C/K pickups. More growl, less rasp.

Thanks for the info. Just one question--do you have the super turbo or the ultra flow from Dynomax? On the Dynomax website the sound clips make the ultra flow much louder & I can't decide which one I want. Thanks again--Tom

I'm gonna do 'something' to my stock '82; my '93 Dodge Dynasty sound better!
I'd want the new mufflers to 'fit' in the stock location; 'rumble' at idle (in a stock Cross-Fire?
); 'bark' under acceleration; and 'growl' under decceleration. 'Sometime' this summer, I'd like to put 2.5" 'true-duals' w/o the cat, followed by a 'hot-rod' Cross-Fire motor (don't laugh
) over the winter. Any/all ideas are appreciated.....

Hey Blackdog,
I think the Super Turbo's may be for you. (Sorry, I failed to mention that that's what's on mine) They have a healthy stacatto sound and definitely don't sound like flowmasters.
If in doubt on your choice, I would consider trying to give Dynomax a call. Some of these companies are willing to speak directly with consumers. Sorry, I don't know how to get in touch with them.

I have a 1979 Vette and I put the Dynomax Super Turbos on it and the sound is just right for my L-82. I get a lot of good comments on how it sounds. It's not to loud but not quite. They fit and look just fine.

Super Turbo's on my '79 L82 from the p/o & I love the sound. They aren't obnoxious but they rumble my neighbor enough that he knows when I start her up at night.

By the way, I found out why my C3 seemed a little louder than I liked......there's a hole in the center pipe!!! Looks like we'll be replacing exhaust once again.
The mufflers are fine by the way, it's the mild steel intermediate pipe that rotted out.

By the way, does anybody out there have the Ultra Flow mufflers? I need to replace my entire system and the Super Turbo's that I like don't come in stainless.
