Hello all.
I am thinking of converting my crossfire injection to a carburetor. Any pros or cons? Do I need to replace the intake or will the carburetor fit on top?
Your help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
I have a garage that I have some engine work done for me talk to me
about converting my crossfire injection system. He said he could get
me a little more power and keep it California smog legal at the same
time. I'm not interested yet.
I'm going out of town for a couple of weeks starting tomorrow. So I will not be able to go down and question him about it. But if you are serious and do not get the info you need between now and the 17 of Aug drop me a PM and I will go down and collect some information from him.
By the way if you convert, what are you going to do with all of your crossfire stuff? gilohatfield@sbcglobal.net

You will have to replace the intake, also new throttle cable (from '80-81) will work. Need new bracket for the TV cable to trans. must be set up just right or you'll be replacing the trans also.
There are several changes needed in the wiring so the computer is not in control anymore. Power to fuel pump relay must now by-pass the computer. If you have QQ plates you can get rid of all the smog stuff. Not sure about the distributor? It's not a real simple switch.
