In response to some 'emision questions': I live 35 miles East of Pittsburgh, where we DO have emission-testing,....UNLESS you keep mileage under 5,000 per year (Last year, I drove my 12-second '79 Z28 to the local fire-hall with open headers & slicks for a charity event; luckily, my neighbors thought it was 'cool'!). Which leads to MY question; I want to add the M-A kit and Flowmaster 40s, but I'll ALSO add DYNOMAX ceramic-coated headers. Anybody tell me just how much 'monkeying-around' is involved getting the M-A pipes to connect with the collectors? Any/all help is greatly appreciated!!! |thumb|

As I posted a few threads ago, I had to have a local muffler shop cut and tweak the true dual system from Mid America. Cost me about $50. But it was worth the cost in the end. Mid America needs to recheck their tooling or jig setup. I think it's a little off.

As I've also stated earlier, I installed a true dual exhaust from Mid America on my 80. But I also installed headers so I had to do some modifications. It took some adjusting here and there, but it did work. I also installed flowmasters |thumb| What a great sound! |cheers| I've got it all clamped now, but I'm going to take it to my local muffler shop to weld it all together. My muffler place is great, they've made me elbows and flare pipes at no cost. It's great PR because they know word of mouth is a wonderful tool. Plus, the owner goes to all the local car shows because he's worked on a lot of them. This type of shop is invaluable. |bouncy| |saluteflag| |thumb|

Sounds like the kind of place that should be added to the Mechanic Directory (if it isn't already there!). |thumb|
