I just bought a new Edlebrock carb and was reading the installation instructions. Is the vacuum advance on my '71 timed advance or full vacuum advance? There's different places to hook the line depending on which it is. I should know this but I don't.  Can someone tell me please? It also says not to use a fuel pump rated over 6.5 psi. The local auto shops say theirs are rated between 7-9 psi. Should I find one that's specifically rated at 6.5 psi or can I use  the 7-9 psi with no problem?  Plus.. I have to change the metal fuel line from the Holley on it now to a rubber hose to hook up the Edlebrock. What's the best way to do that? I appreciate any help. Yeah, I have a lot to learn. lollonghorn29438569.7823263889

Your carb should have ported and non ported vac. outlets, ported outlet only has vac when the the trottle blades are opened, non ported outlet has constant vac. whenever the engine is running, hook your vc. adv. line to the ported outlet, as far as the fuel pressure, plumb a adjustable fuel pressure regulator with gauage between the carb and fuel pump, then you can adjust the pressure to whatever you want, Edlebrock has a rubber fuel line adapter fitting that screws into your new carb, I believe they also make a fuel line kit with a regulator incorporated into it, look at one of their catologs you will find all you need.

I found a low pressure fuel pump at AZ but it only has one inlet and one outlet. Mine has two lines running back to the tank and one to the carb. Can I cap off the other line going back to the tank. Is it just a tank vent?

The return line is to prevent vapor lock by allowing the fuel to return to the tank, and not get heated in the lines.  If it does not vapor lock, the two line will work, but I would rather see the regulator.
