Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.
Maybe some day I'll give instead of recieve. Anyway, got me 70 LT-1 and the okay for exhaust for Father's day... Most people I hear mention the Flowmasters, the muffler guys also mention them, my question is which ones will give me a really good rumble, what the h--l was that sound. Wife had exhuast put on her 5.0 stang so the vette HAS TO SOUND BETTER right... flowmater suggested the 40 or 50 delta flow. and help would be great.Only got about 250.00 to work with installed. thanks this site is by new drug.........
Is there a C3vette annoyomance... Hello my name is LArry and I a vette aholic... |rollysmile| |laugh|

Larry, there are a number of threads in the archives about muffler preferences. just do a search and I'm sure your questions will be answered. you can also go to the Flowmaster web page and listen to an audio of their mufflers.
as far as a C3VA, C3 Vette Anonymous, you came to the right place. just visit the current thread "Happy Birthday" and you'll realize you're with "Brothers and Sisters".

|cheers|

you can also go to http://flowtechheaders.com and http://ilovemyhookerheaders.com and listen to their mufflers as well.

$250 is not a lot to replace the entire system, unless all your doing is adding mufflers. IMHO best bang for the buck are the flowtech afterburners. I like the sounds of the flowmasters, but I associate the sound with every Mustang on the road. Or am I |eek| crazy for thinking that. I like a sound that is also deeper and not as raspy as what the flowmasters are.

I would also look at Bassani, Magnaflow, Dynomax, Spintech and others to see what they offer and see what they sound like.

What about chambered exhaust? I thought it would give a fair amount of bang for the bucks. Here is where I would look for it: http://www.allencorvetteexhaustsystems.com/

Vette(s): 79 L82 auto other then the indego blue paint, headers with chambered exhust and rims its all unrestored original with 68000 mi
I just put chamber exhaust on and WOW what a great sound. I got The chambered tubes on E-bay. I put the headers on myself and had a local shop run the tubing. He welded all the joints and brakets. The sound is great at idle and melows at crusing speed but when you open up the secondaries everyone knows you mean business.

Chambered tubes - $80.00 on E-bay
Tubing by local shop - $100.00
All the looks from the great sound - PRICELESS! |thumb|

I have the flowmasters and to be honest don't like the sound. I want a deeper sound, but back when I got the flowmasters there were only 2 types....now they have a bunch.

Quite fitting since the owners have excrement for brains.

I put chambers on mine and its a glorious sound. They are loud at above 3000 rpm. I live in the chicago suburbs and its full of anal people who dont want to hear the wonderful sound of chevy power and I was advised to muffle the vette more. If you think you can get away with the sound, they are nice.
