Topic: Who knows about the hose?
in Forum: C3 Fuel, Emission Control, and Exhaust Systems
Thank you so much. I've been trying to figure out if I could Bubba
something up as a temporary substitute for this elbow (hello, PVC
plumbing supplies!) to try to pass the visual inspection, and then along
you came with this very kind and generous offer.
It goes without saying that I'll pay for the shipping. I'll PM you with
contact info.
And someday, I hope that I can return the favor. Meantime, I'll just say
publicly that you represent the very best of what this forum is all about:
helping another member out, when they really need it...

You got it! Send me the info
Glad I could help.

Just to make sure we're talking about the same part....is this it? Ver solid. a little cleaning and it's as good as a NOS part

only from the illustration in the Corvette Central catalog so far--that
looks to be the precise item, Paul. Many thanks for going to the extra
trouble of shooting some pixels of it just to make sure...
Oh, heck--since you've been so generous up to this point, instead of
posting that pipe, why not just hop into that 400HP blue beauty, plop the
part into the passenger seat, and bring it out to sunny, funny California?
We have plenty of Vettes to wave at...piles of Porsches to blow the doors
off of...and only the occasional earthquake/wildfire/monsoon/urban riot/
serial killer/great white shark to worry about...

I'd love to. Only time I was in California was when I went to 29 Palms with the Army for desert training. Only problem is, family, time, $, work - ok - so that's 4!!
I'd love to take you up on the offer eventually!
Regards,
Paul

came home this afternoon but a box from New Jersey, with a freshly-
painted elbow joint for the carb preheater hose inside.
I know that other members must have experienced this feeling: when you
need a particular part, but it's not in any of the aftermarket catalogs, and
you're asking yourself, 'where the #%*@! am I gonna find this thing?'
In this case, a Forum member--Sir Paul--came to the rescue. Read my
post...offered the part...asked nothing for it...and get this: even went to
the time and trouble and expense of sending it Priority Mail!
So there's one '78 Silver Anniversary that's going to have a transplant
from a fellow Vette (a year younger, too!) all the way across the country.
And there are two lifelong Corvette lovers--me and the missus--who are
indebted to its owner for being so helpful and so generous.
Thank you, Paul. And thank you, 400HP '79. You're the best of what this
forum's all about...
