I took my car up to the local exhaust shop and had them put in a crossover pipe, H-pipe, for $40. I don't know that it did anything but it sounds cool when I tell people I have it.
I know it does sound cool huh? but you got to throw it all in there, the 440 stainless steel, the all mandrel bends, the pateneted x pipe technology.

I bought the pypes x system but only cause they had a special deal going on e-bay. It was $500 all together with shipping. They are all slip fit so instead of welding them I'm going to poke a rivet in them to keep them from coming loose on me and that way I can take it apart if need be. They fit pretty good, lined up no problems, a little tight around the spare tire carrier though. You can see the passenger side offset from the engine so don't make your downpipes symmetrical like I did otherwise it won't line up too good. Maybe it does quiet them down I don't know, but mine sounds really good so Im happy. Has a very deep sound and it really does flow nice. You can feel it thumping pretty good out of the tailpipe at idle also. As far as performance increase, yeah that's probably all marketing who knows for sure.
If you want I can climb under her tomorrow and snap some pics of what it looks like installed from the back and with a body on the frame
