I am looking at buying my second Corvette. My first was an 81' that came to an untimely death last week when a nice lady on a cellphone cut in front of me. Car is totalled waiting on insurance company for how much they are going to give me.
In the meantime I am looking for another. My question is that I have seen some cars advertised with 1 piece glass tops. Were these an option or were they aftermarket? Thanks, Tom

Tom, really sorry to hear about the wreck...
. Hope no one got hurt.
Are you looking for another C3? I am not sure of a C3 one piece top, but maybe someone else has.
Good luck in the search for a new car.

Luckily no one was hurt except the cars and yes I am looking for another C3. A lot depends on what price the insurance company gives me for mine. I really like the 78-82's because of the ease of access to the rear area, but they do have a slight lack of power. We'll see what happens.

Tom,
The one piece top is the Thompson Astro top. It is and aftermarket item. I have one as well as the original T Tops. Many Corvette Suppliers sell them. Mine was purchased through Mid America.Tuxblacray 2008-07-02 13:08:50

Does anyone know if these 1 piece tops come with any sort of UV protection? I spent the whole day driving around with mine and I ended up getting quite a bit of sun.
<-- me all sunburnt
I will try to call the manuf. on Monday and ask them. Assuming they dont have any sort of UV, does anyone know of a spray on UV protectant that is safe for acrylic? I found some for marine applications or for paint jobs, I dont know if those would work or not. Will post a couple of links.
