I got a '74 coupe in the shop today. Customer advised he wanted the 'bands adjusted'. Yeah, right!
I walked outside for a test-drive, and almost s***t on myself. There, before me, was what USED to be a Corvette. Now it is a sad, sad, joke, more of a caricature of a 'Vette that you might see in a cartoon.
This car had a 1-piece, '81 style front-end, complete with the "Daytona" lovures, a HUGE 'Daytona' styled hood, 10" fender flares, an '81 rear bumper cover, 20" rims w/2" tires, and the nastiest yellow & orange paint job I've ever seen!!
This might have been a decent looking car when it was first done, but I doubt it. It has NO tops, seats are ripped to shreds, carpet rotted, crap hanging down from the dash, and the doors only open from the inside. The frame is cracked in several places, and the diff is loose from the crossmember. I could go on, but ya'll get the point. This dude is braggin' to me about how he paid $6500 for this car, and he's going to turn around and sell it for $10,000.!!! I jest don't understand how someone could let their car get to this condition, especially after spending the $$$ to customize it like that. I told the guys at the shop the cars only worth about $2000, and that's for the rims thats on it!! It's just so sad.
btw....the trans is trashed, also, but the guy just wants me to fix the vaccuum problems I found....so sad!

poor guy, spending all that money on such a vette. Hes in for a surprise when he starts asking 10k for it. unless he can find a another foolish buyer that doesnt do their homework on vettes. I saw a vette almost exactly as you described at the vette expo in houston going for $5000. Except it was red with big white stripes on it.
Some people don't care for their cars as we do. There is a woman where
I work at that drives a late model camaro. She is very quiet and keeps
to herself. Her car is black and she always wears black. One night I
just happened to park beside her. I had a look inside her car and could
not believe my eyes. There in that camaro was every piece of garbage
she had ever brought into the car. The entire car was full of garbage.
I was blown away by its unkept condition.
i found an equally sad one! im thinking this 75 was once owned by huggy bear! note the spinning bling rims!
also note the price- 18,000!!

How about this one? What will it or did it sell for?
I'm still not sure about this one, but I'd love to get in it and go!
