Don't guess on the engine #'s it could be a 265, 283, 305, 307, 327. although a 302 would be good. anips38562.6146643519

hi all,

I checked the # on the engine and its a 350 4bolt main from a 1971 corvette.

so at least its a vette engine.

now the car has side pipes, how can I tell if there factory?

Check out the seams at the rear filler panel. If they are straight like mine it is a factory side pipe car. The filler panel for cars that had rear exit exhaust orignially have a radiused section to fill in the exhaust cutout. Here's mine...

And if the rear panel vertical seam has a half moon seam on the fender side it's a after market replacment panel for orig. under car exh. gone side exh.
