I found this BB on ebay it's item no. is: 1862431659.
Does anybody here have any info. on this particular vette?
I am located downunder(Australia) & am currently interested in
purchasing a 69BB,however,I have never driven nor owned such a
car.
I currently own 2 vettes.
One is a Red/Red 1981 & the other is a Rubyred 1993ZR1.
I would like to know what life with a BB is like & would
appreciate any advice from the forum members.
PS. I was'nt sure if this was the correct forum to post on.

"69 Big Block...the only way to go
. They are a ball to drive. A little nose heavy but it makes up for it in brute force
. Be prepared to cook you feet cause they do get hot in the cockpit. Save a few bucks for tires, they don't have all the features your ZR1 has but you can sure melt the rubber off them.
Good luck !

Good luck !
Thanks for the reply Glen.
That sure is a sweet looking BB you have there.
FWIW the bidding on the afforementioned BB went to $34600US.
The reserve was $38000US.
I have been advised(by members of our local club) to go for a
69BB with Tri-power option in 400 or 435hp.
What are your thoughts on this matter.

To the best of my knowledge, the only difference between the 390 and 400 HP engines is the 390 is a 4 barrel and the 400 has three 2s. The 435 cars have the three 2s and run solid lifters and possibly a bigger cam ( not sure but a good bet ). Re-sale value on either of the three 2s cars will probably be much higher. I have heard the trips are hard to keep in sync but have had no experiance with them other than hear-say. If you plan on driving the car as much as I drive mine, then I would have to say, "buy the 390 or 400 engine" just for the better gas mileage. If you plan to only drive occassionally and don't mind seeing the tach hoover around 6300 to 6500 rmp, then go for the 435 engine.
Which ever one you buy, I am sure you will enjoy driving it but as Darla says, "get a bucket of ice for your feet" cause they are gonna get VERY warm. !!!
Good luck with your search !
BTW, you should be able to find a restored 68-74 big block for much less than you mentioned. Almost seems like you could find one in California, fly over to drive it and have it shipped home for less than that.

Thankyou for your reply,Glen.
I am in no hurry for the 69BB.
I am trying to get my hands on as much literature as possible re:
the BB's as I can find.
I will have to sell my 81 to have garage space for the 69BB.
That's easier said than done coz it's a nice car.
If I can find a nicer 69BB 400/435hp(Tri-Power) with as many
options as possible(inc. factory fitted side pipes) then it
won't be so difficult a decision.
BOL & regards
Wayne

This might end up being a duplicate reply cause when I hit post I got kicked back to the login page.
If you can find one ( it is out of print ) , get a book called 1969 Stingray Guidebook by Rick Bizzoco. It will cost you upwards of $100.00 (US) but it is well worth it.
Good luck with your quest.
