Take your time and tackle one problem at a time. Take care of the one that is bothering you the most. Once it is behind you, you will feel better about it.

Adam:
That is one hell of a list ... lol
But I sure can relate
Last weekend I fired up the computer in the garage just to check on what "little" things I had to correct this winter.
Since I own 5 Corvettes and a Chevelle and not a single one of them has fewer then 5 or 6 "little" things wrong with them it looks like I have more then a few "shop" days ahead of me...
Every time I drive one of the cars I seem to notice something that just is not right and when I pull in the garage I walk over and fire up the computer and enter
the problem.
Come October "my list" is a lot longer then yours...BUT
since I honestly enjoy tinkering with my toys I do not
get upset...in fact I think of the needed time as pure relaxation..

BTW: My "winter" season begins the day after Thabnksgiving and my goal is to have all the cars back in shape by April Fools day when the garage doors open to start another "year"...

Bringing this thread back....
I took my car to County Corvette on Saturday 1/29. I gave them pretty much the same list that is at the top of this thread. Got a call today... the first couple of things they are going to work on:
- Rebuild Carb. He said fuel is just dumping into the carb at idle and even after the car is off. Which explain the fuel smell, probably had an effect on MPG and also stalling when stopping fast. Oh, and probably had to do with the oil (or gas) blowing out the tail pipe.
- Replace all vacuum lines. He said there are about 26 vacuum leaks. Which is causing many of my running issues too.
Once he gets these two items nailed down, he can then look at some of the other issues, which may go away by the time these two items are fixed.

Adam, just a thought concerning your carb. Probably most of you really smart guys have figured this out a long time ago....sometimes just rebuilding the carb won't fix the external/internal leaks.
I had the local carb shop do mine a while back because of leaks, but just the other day I see it seeping externally again. The engine compartment is spotless clean, so things like this are noticed right away.
Over time the carb housings/bodies become warped and no longer fit properly because of heat, and overtightening stuff. I hear the professional rebuilders correct these problems and the gaskets seal properly for years to come.
The reason why I mention this is because I'll need to send mine out again, pay again, just more stuff to fix again...see my point?

I'm not sure how I could keep track to count up to 26 leaks. Sure would be a test of my sanity to track all of those down let alone replace all those lines.
Hang in there and let us know the outcome of all those leaks.
