I was on the C3VR Community - C3VR Special Events and went into the 50th Anniversary Kickoff Event Pictures - June 2002 (actually the event was June 2003). I was at the NCM for the kickoff and was curious about some of the pictures that are posted on our GREAT site. My vette is in two of the pictures. Also, my neighbor, Captain Joe Jakub - Warren County Sheriffs vette is also shown as the lead vette during the Motorama. His vette, of course paid for by the Warren County residence which I am one, is the red convertible with the blue banners and white stars. Joe also has a Camaro painted similar to this.

My vette (1980 Silver with a Black Nose Mask on the front) is located at this site: Go to 50th Anniversary Kickoff Event Pictures - June 2002 => Miscellaneous Pictures => 7th picture or the bottom picture on the left side. Open the picture and my vette is the silver one with the black nose mask. It's the 7th vette from the right edge of the picture and it's located between two red vettes with the red convertible with the hood up at my drivers side. Whoever took the pictures, I appreciate it! I'll let Joe Jakub's know, too. I keep on Joe to join C3VR, but he won't bite!

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY wanted to get there for the kick-off, especially since the C3s were supposed to be the featured generation. But my employment situation (actually lack of employment) for a majority of that year put a big dent in the 'fun budget' so I didn't get there.

But things worked out and I did make it to the 50th party in 2003 where I had the good fortune to meet Pete and Diana. They were out crusin' on Friday night and happened on our C3VR gathering at the Santa Fe Cattle Company. They joined us again on Saturday evening and within a week 'Flyboy' appeared on the C3VR membership rolls.
