'69 was an extended model year so there are lots of them out there. You don't have to settle on any one in particular if you have any misgivings at all.
That being said, use the forum tools function here...it has a mechanics locator. Try that and maybe there's also a member close by where the car is for sale that would be willing to check the car out for you.
As far as price goes, a lot simply depends on condition, options, whether or not it's a numbers matching car (which may not be important to you)...they all factor in. No car is worth any more than you're willing to pay for it.
$30k may not be out of line if the car is right.

Thanks! For the investment side of things, i'd like numbers matching and the more options the better, esp A/C.. I know of the basic questions to ask regarding leaks, rust, etc, . I'll check out the mechanics tool to see who may be in the area. Of all the places i checked out with Corvettes for sale, i haven't seen any locally so i'm a bit skeptical of long distance buying.. Anyone had bad experiences having to go long distance?f

I've bought several cars off Ebay...including my '69 Vette and the '78 Silver Anniversary I just sold. Each time was long distance and positive experiences.
My '78 I flew out to where the car was and drove it 900 miles home without incident. My '69 was delivered by the previous owner...he owned several GM dealerships and had it delivered in an enclosed trailer. When they arrived at my home and opened the trailer...there was the car wrapped in plastic like a new car.
The only negative experience I had was when I advertised my '78 for sale...someone hacked into my Ebay account and ended the auction early then re-listed it nine times! Each time at a different selling price...like a buy it now of $1500! I was able to delete all the bogus ads quickly and Ebay made sure I wasn't charged for anything.

Don't give up your search too quickly. There are cars for sale on here and other forums as well as racingjunk.com and ebay. I have always had a fondness for 69's. I was 16 back then. I lived north of Port Jervis, New York and went to Woodstock that year (The Summer of Love). We love our 69 Camaro SS and our 69 Corvette roadster. As Gunslinger says, a car is only worth what someone is willing pay. On the flip side, the value to you is only what your willing to let it go for. I wish you well in your search.

.............Naw, not if it runs good, numbers match, not rusted out, good birdcage & it's a survivor.........

Found mine on Ebay years ago......it was a good experience and a long distance buy.
California car that went with it's owner when he moved to a tiny town in Florida.

Man, I saw a SWEET '69 (at least the outside looked good) today & it's not far from my house. I was gonna go take a closer look at it, but I was in the GreyPoop-On Mustard Car behind a BIG traffic jam and I was low on gas. Had to turn around. I'm goin' back tomorrow to check it out. It's white with a luggage rack on the back..........can't hardly wait to look under it, check out the engine and the interior condition. Got to see what they want for it too. I'll probably take some pictures. Yeee........Haaaaaaaaaaww!
