Check out this one for sale on ebay. A 71, seems like an LT1, but it has air. I thought this was only an option in 72 for LT1's. It is a late vin#, but have not heard about any with a/c in 71.

Yes, a/c was available in 71, but it was not offered with the LT1 engine until 72, and it appears that this car is a LT1 by the engine/hp tag picture from the interior shot and the type of hood and air cleaner it has.

Looks can be deceiving. While it did have a big block/LT-1 hood, the seller did state the car was repainted and LT-1 stripes most likely applied at that point. You are correct in that while A/C was available, it was not installed in '71 Lt-1's and there is no documented evidence that it may have been put into a late '71. All references indicate this option as N/A for '71 and the only way to really check the engine is through verification of the engine pad. Also, it may have been an Lt-1, retrofitted with A/C, but because the seller indicated numbers matching, this would not prove out. Most likely a clone.

I don't think he ever said it was an LT-1. Numbers matching doesn't include the hood. I don't know what a 330 HP motor is, the LT-1 was 350 HP and the base was what? 300? Joe
