You can ask Adams Apple for a wiring diagram, thats a start,I started a thread a long time back that had free restoration info from G.M.,its got all kinds of info,at the time it was free, all you had to do was call them and give them your vin number and they sent it right out.I'll check out the old threads and see if I can find it,unless somebody knows where it is

You can get the factory assembly manual(A.I.M) from any of the supporting Vendors here(Bair's, Mid America, etc).
You should also look for the factory service manual. You can normally find some on e-bay, or at swap-meets. About $40-50 on the service manual, and around $20 on the AIM.
I do have wiring diagrams for all years(53-2005) available, but the diagram for '71 is too large for e-mail. You can check out This thread for specifics on how to get the complete set on disc, at a great price!
The AIM, and service manuals should give you about everything you need to know about how the car was put together, and how it is supposed to be repaired.
